Ammor Records

Ammor Records was a short-lived American label founded in 1940, known for issuing the first commercial recordings of Nat King Cole. The label focused on West Coast performers and produced around 20 discs before ceasing operations within a few months. Some of its recordings were later released by Varsity Records and, eventually, Savoy Records. In 1940, Nat King Cole signed with Ammor and recorded four sides, marking his first records available to the public. Other artists who recorded for Ammor included the Larry Breese orchestra, the Ceele Burke orchestra, and Sid Gary.
